Brandon BolinWebsiteMySpaceFacebookTwitterLinksBrandon Bolin is an Austin, Texas based artist. He was born in Waxahachie, Texas and raised in Amarillo, Texas. As a child, his stepfather introduced him to the country music singer and songwriting legends of the 20th century. Through that, Brandon developed a deep love for the genre. Family road-trips were defined by listening to the radio -- everything from Roy Orbison to Willie Nelson and George Jones. Growing up, the family had a fully restored jukebox in the house that was constantly playing classic country music, gospel, and oldies. Singing alongside the family jukebox as well as singing hymns from the Methodist hymnal by his grandmother's piano is where Brandon first learned to sing. His high school music teacher recognized Brandon’s vocal talent, and at age 14 Brandon began training his voice by studying classical music. During his senior year at Amarillo High School, Brandon was awarded the prestigious Roy Acuff Memorial Scholarship as well as a School of Music Scholarship to Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Brandon left Belmont after a semester mainly due to a fear that he would not be able to make a living pursuing his love of music. Eventually made his way up to New York where he worked in the catering and hospitality industry while attending college classes. On September 12, 2001, a day after the atrocities of 9/11, Brandon joined the Air Force ROTC program at Manhattan College, and finished up his degree in Political Science in 2004 at City College of New York. After college, Brandon commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force in 2004 and moved back to Texas to attend law school at the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University. He earned his law degree in 2007 and took and passed the Texas bar exam the summer after graduation. Soon after graduation from law school, Brandon was honorably discharged from the military. He then took a job at a private equity real estate investment firm and from there went on to briefly practice Land Use law at Jackson Walker, a Texas based law firm. Brandon left the practice of law to start a real estate development company in early 2010 that focuses on building affordable rental housing in Texas. After a decade away from performing and studying music, the love of music was strongly calling his name. After working with Texas based singing legend, Betty Lynn Buckley for several months of intense training, Betty Lynn suggested that Brandon re-focus his professional efforts on pursuing music. Soon thereafter, Brandon re-united with his best friend and the best man in his wedding, Jon Nite who is a songwriter with EMI in Nashville, TN. Jon and Brandon grew up together in Amarillo, TX and both attended Belmont on music scholarships after graduation from high school. Jon never left Nashville and worked his way up to become a well-known songwriter in Nashville with songs that have recently been recorded by Chris Young, Thompson Square, and Blake Shelton. After hearing a recent recording of Brandon, Jon asked Brandon to come up to Nashville for the summer and record his first studio debut album. Jon produced the album, which was recorded at Omni Sound Studio in Nashville. After spending the summer of 2011 in Nashville recording, Brandon and his wife and two children moved to Austin, where they currently reside. Brandon has recently formed a band in Austin and will be hitting the circuit soon, to promote his first single “Don’t Lie” and his debut album entitled “Shiver.” Emory QuinnWebsiteMySpaceFacebookBuy MusicLinks"See You at the Next Light" is both instantly enjoyable and a grower of an album. It's laid-back and smart and the band sounds as tight as a drum. - Trailer Parkman, Farce the Music (Nov 17, 2010) "Ora “Live At Gruene Hall” può veramente proiettarli tra i migliori nomi nel firmamento texano e, più lontano, a livello nazionale. (Now “Live At Gruene Hall” can truly project them between the best names in the Texan firmament and on a national level.)" - Remo Ricaldone, Lonestartime.com (Italy) "This quartet of roots country/rock artists is on a fast track that for others might have been a decade in the making." - John Goodspeed, San Antonio Express News "With its fusion of country, rock and pop that creates a sound that is all its own!" - John Goodspeed, San Antonio Express News "Their newest album Live at Gruene Hall brings you right in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. You can hear the one of a kind vocals, their fantastic musical talents, and a sell-out crowd that loves being part of a live recording." - Adam Drake, Best In Texas Magazine "With so much material to create, it's a good thing the four multi-instrumentalists that make up EQ don't draw lines between Americana, rock and country genres." - Michelle Hernandez, San Antonio Magazine
